A "Royal" Performance
Last October, Florence was invited to perform on the Queen Elizabeth II, as it journeyed from Canada to New York. Since Florence loves ships, and knew this was a very special one, she jumped at the chance. She flew to New Brunswick and boarded the ship.(Click on any of the photos for a larger view)
Florence and her husband John, her accompanyist and his wife, and her assistant Tracy all set off for a week's voyage. Here is Florence rehearsing for her performances. She gave 2 concerts during the trip. The rest of the time was spent having fun and sightseeing. She said the ship was absolutely amazing, and bigger than you can imagine.
Here is Florence, in her outfit by Travilla (see the story about the fashion show!) getting ready to go out on stage. It's always exciting right before going on stage - knowing that the crowd is getting seated and that they are all anticipating a great performance!
She wow'd them, as usual! Florence puts on a dynamic and interactive performance. She likes to get right down into the audience for part of her show, and everyone feels like she is singing right to them! Performing on the beautiful QEII is an experience Florence will always treasure.
