Live with Florence Henderson on the set of "Later Today."

We hope you have been watching Florence on "Later Today" on NBC! As you can imagine it has been a lot of hard work, but you know Florence...she always has a wonderful time and "Later Today" is no exception. We gave her time to settle in, and then we went to visit her on the set and to get a taste of her new job as co-host of a daily network news show! (Click on any photo for a larger view) The set looks wonderful in real life, and it's very large too! "Later Today" tapes at NBC, right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of New York City. Rockefeller Center and the famous skating rink is right across the street in one direction, and the "Today" show with its famous studio window is across the street in another. "Dateline NBC" tapes right across the hall from the "Later Today" show which puts Florence right in the middle of all the current happenings of the day. Before the telecast started, Asha Blake came out to greet the audience and to chat about what was coming up on the show that day. She was very friendly and personable, and really made everyone feel relaxed. Florence and Jodi then joined Asha to say hello to the audience. Florence, Jodi and Asha all seemed to be enjoying themselves as usual. Once the show started, they chatted about events in the news and then went into the various segments of the show. Florence spoke with an editor from "In Style" magazine, and they re-created Tina Turner's new bedroom right on the stage. Asha interviewed a rabbi on relationships, and a couple on how many carbohydrates exist in specific foods. The audience favorite seemed to be "The Rock," the WWF wrestling star who was interviewed by Jodi Applegate. (All the guests were promoting books!) After the show was finished, all 3 of the women interacted with the audience members as people were leaving the soundstage. They made themselves available for photos, autographs, and just to chat with their fans. Florence posed for many photographs, and even signed a T-shirt right on a fan's back! So if you get a chance to attend a live taping of "Later Today" don't forget your camera! The week before we visited the set, Flofans Kristin, and Wendy (who happens to run the great BradyWorld website), had a chance to visit "Later Today" also. Florence knew they were coming, and introduced them to the studio audience as Flofans and contributors to Flohome.com. She chatted with them during commercial breaks, and they really enjoyed their visit also. (That's Kristin with Florence, and Wendy at the table.)
